Right sided abdominal pain can be due to various causes pertaining to liver, gall bladder and bile duct system located on the right side of abdomen. Organs located in other regions also may give rise to right sided pain, for example a peptic ulcer or pancreatitis. Very rarely appendix, a vestigial organ located in the lower abdomen may give rise to upper abdominal pain.
The additional information which you have given other than location is related to food intake. Pancreatitis, peptic ulcer may get precipitated following food intake.
There are various other aspects of pain which need to be considered like whether pain occurs in the night, associated with nausea, vomiting fever etc.
The Investigations would include basic blood work, liver function tests and Serum Amylase levels. Baseline scanning to be ordered would be ultra sonogram.
In nutshell, the information given by you is sketchy and not sufficient to arrive at a diagnosis. Certainly you need to consult a Gastroenterologist, give him more details of symptoms. Before embarking on investigations, a clinical examination also needs to be carried out.
